I’m Eva Riazati, and I’m delighted to welcome you to our TastyHomemaderecipes food blog! Our family is a delightful blend of cultures. I come from Slovakia, and my husband has his roots in Iran. Our love story unfolded in sunny California, where we also celebrated the unions of our two children.
In our kitchen, cultural diversity finds its delicious expression. Our marriage brings together a tapestry of flavors, as we fuse our distinct tastes for food. After four splendid years in California, we set off for Ohio, savoring the beauty of four seasons, the charm of our cozy university town, and the warm hospitality of our newfound friends.
In 2019, our adventurous spirits led us overseas to Haifa, Israel, where we embarked on a volunteering journey. As our kids grew older, we embraced local cuisine and continued to explore the flavors of typical American dishes, along with anything that tickled our taste buds.
Our Kitchen
Our kitchen is the heart of our home—a place where our family gathers to create, experiment, and indulge. We love trying out new recipes, baking mouthwatering cakes, and embarking on culinary adventures together.
I’m usually the one behind the camera, capturing not only our cherished family moments but also our culinary exploits.
During our time in Haifa, Israel, we fell in love with Mediterranean cuisine, and I started documenting our culinary adventures through food photography. That’s how TastyHomemadeRecipes came to life!
On my blog, you’ll find simple, family-friendly recipes that we love, along with photos and videos that capture the fun of cooking together. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just starting out, I hope my recipes inspire you to get creative in the kitchen and make memories with your loved ones.
The recipes you’ll find here fit all meal courses, including lunch/dinner recipes, desserts, breakfast, vegetarian recipes, keto recipes, 30 minutes meals, side dishes and appetizers.
Thanks for joining me on this delicious journey!
OUR FAMILY ADVENTURE
Here are some interesting things about me and our family:
- I was passionate about track and field, especially long jump, during my high school days.
- I hold a master’s degree in teaching, with a specialization in physical education and biology.
- I’m fluent in Spanish.
- I enjoyed living in the Dominican Republic for three years.
- While pursuing my business studies at Schiller International University in London, I also worked as a nanny.
- At the age of 22, I embarked on an adventurous backpacking journey across the USA, relying on Amtrak as my main mode of transportation. I explored a wide range of destinations, including New York City, Chicago, Montana, Seattle, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and many more.
- In our family, we talk in English, but I also speak Slovak, my husband speaks Farsi, and our kids know Hebrew and Arabic, which they use as a secret language when needed.
