Roasted Cauliflower Recipe

Roasted cauliflower pairs wonderfully with a medley of complementary ingredients such as garlic, Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and fresh herbs, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that elevate this humble vegetable to a delightful culinary experience.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)

How to Roast Cauliflower in the oven:

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Rinse the cauliflower head thoroughly and pat it dry with a paper towel. Remove the outer leaves of the cauliflower
  • Place the cauliflower on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the cauliflower vertically into 1-inch thick “steaks.” Some florets may fall off, and that’s okay—they can be roasted alongside the steaks.
  • Arrange the cauliflower steaks and any loose florets on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the cauliflower steaks, using a basting brush or spoon to evenly coat both sides. Season with salt and black pepper according to your taste.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the cauliflower for 20-25 minutes, flipping the steaks halfway through the cooking time. Roast until the cauliflower is tender and golden brown on the edges.
  • Once done, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Carefully transfer the roasted cauliflower steaks to a serving platter.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs like parsley or thyme if desired. Serve hot as a side dish or as a main course with your favorite sauces or accompaniments.

Elevate your easy roasted cauliflower recipe with these quick tips:

  • Fresh vs. Frozen Raspberries: If using frozen raspberries, toss them in a bit of flour before folding into the batter to prevent them from sinking to the bottom.
  • Dairy-Free Option: For a dairy-free version, use plant-based butter and a non-dairy milk alternative.
  • Perfectly Softened Butter: To achieve the ideal softened butter consistency, leave it at room temperature for about 30-45 minutes.
