Sometimes the simplest recipes are the most delicious! I came across a Fried Cabbage with Bacon recipe on Low Carb with Jennifer and loved how it only required cabbage, bacon, salt, and pepper. I gave it a try, and it turned out so flavorful that I had to share it with you. With just a few ingredients, this dish delivers crispy bacon, tender cabbage, and a perfect balance of smoky and savory flavors. It’s an easy, comforting side that pairs well with almost anything—let’s get cooking!

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions for Fried Cabbage with Bacon recipe:

  • Start by preparing the cabbage. Remove the core, then slice it thinly for a more uniform texture I used a slicer for this step and wore a glove for safety.

  • Chop the bacon into small pieces (8 slices of bacon).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Once done, remove it from the pan and set it aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.

  • Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet, stirring to coat it in the bacon grease. Season with salt and pepper to taste

  • Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage becomes tender and lightly caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

  • Add the crispy bacon back to the pan, stir everything together, and cook for another minute.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices of bacon chopped
  • 1 small head of cabbage chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste

  • Thinly slice 1 small head of cabbage (about 6 cups) after removing the core.
  • Chop 6 slices of bacon into small pieces.
  • Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the grease.
  • Add cabbage to the skillet, stirring to coat in bacon grease. Season with ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
  • Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and slightly caramelized.
  • Stir in crispy bacon and cook for another minute.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
