INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (use reduced sodium if preferred)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 lb medium uncooked shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Optional: chopped green onion for garnish
Ingredients for Honey Garlic Shrimp - honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic cloves, green onion, ginger, shrimp, garlic

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Whisk honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger (if using) in a medium bowl. Set aside half for cooking and use the rest to marinate the shrimp.
Ingredients for the marinade: honey, soy sauce, ginger, cloves
  • Place shrimp in a bowl, pour half the marinade over, and refrigerate for 15 minutes (or up to 8-12 hours).
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until pink. Flip the shrimp, add the remaining marinade, and cook for 2- 3 more minutes until fully cooked.
  • Serve with extra sauce and garnish with green onion and/or sesame seeds. Great with brown rice and steamed veggies.
