Tips for Making the Best M&M Cookies:

  • Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for better mixing and consistency.
  • Chill the Dough: Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent the cookies from spreading too much while baking.
  • Mix-In Extras Last: Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips and M&M’s to avoid breaking the candies and ensure even distribution.
  • Don’t Overbake: Remove cookies from the oven when the edges are just turning golden. They will continue to bake on the hot baking sheet.
  • Add M&M’s on Top: For a more colorful presentation, press a few extra M&M’s on top of each cookie dough ball before baking.

Make-Ahead Tips for the Best M&M Cookies:

Prepare in Advance: Make the dough up to 5 days ahead and store it in the refrigerator. Alternatively, bake the cookies 1-2 days before you need them.

How to Freeze Cookie Dough:

To Freeze Cookie Dough: Scoop the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for 1 hour. Once firm, transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before baking, or bake from frozen with a few extra minutes.
